How we work
How we work with you on your projects.
Location
At your offices
If you need our expertise at your offices, we can easily work on your premises, provided they are located in or around the Glasgow area.
We usually bring our own computing equipment but can also work with your computing equipment when it is required.
At our offices
When working at our offices, we usually use the systems highlighted below. However, if you have a particular system in mind you would like us to use, we are always happy to discuss it with you.
Development framework
We use Eclipse, an Open Source IDE, as our main development framework. Eclipse can handle many programming languages and has great features such as CVS and Subversion repositories access for controlling the different versions of programming files with a feature to synchronize the files directly from Eclipse. These features are extremely useful when we are working with other developers on the same project (see next section).
Versioning systems
We sometimes work on a project in collaboration with other Web developers located in different places. We use CVS or Subversion to control the versions of the files and make sure we are all working on the latest version. However, if you have a particular versioning system you would like us to use, we are always happy to discuss it with you.
File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
We use FTP to transfer files onto the project's servers, for example your business servers.
Secure Shell (SSH)
We can access the projects' servers via an encrypted connection with specific login details, using SSH, provided this feature is available on your servers. It can be useful when we need to modify some options, configure the system or install new software required by the project. These features will depend on the level of your hosting package.
